COMPOST it!

Saturday, June 8 | 11 AM - 1 PM | *choose $5 | $10 | $15

According to the USDA, food scraps and yard waste currently make up 20-30 percent of what we throw away. Composting keeps food scraps out of landfills and is a sustainable and inexpensive way to create soil amendments for your garden and lawn — think of it as nature’s way of recycling! In this workshop, you will learn how to compost food scraps, leaf litter, and more in your own backyard. We’ll cover different methods, of dealing with wildlife, and how to make good quality compost that your plants will love. By composting at home, you can feel good knowing that through this small act, you are actively working to address climate change. Registration is encouraged.

Location: Meet in the parking lot of the farm store. Google Maps Link

**If you want to compost, but not at home, check out our Egg Share Program which gives you free eggs for your kitchen scraps. Craigardan’s new composting system is made possible in part by a grant from the Essex Farm Institute.
