Tile and Handbuilding

Mondays and Wednesdays, 6-8pm

Instructor:  Catherine Seidenberg + Michele Drozd

We are kicking off our Summer in the clay studio with a tile making class!

This is an excellent course for the beginner interested in learning how to work with clay, as well as for the more experienced artist looking to develop a greater range of skills.  We will be working with slabs, making tiles, and experimenting with pattern and texture.  Participants will learn how to work with plaster and take molds of their finished tiles to make multiples. Lidded boxes will then be constructed from the tiles, adding feet and handles. The class will cover basic bisque & glaze firing processes.  Each participant will take home their own lidded box (approx. 4x4x4”) and tiles, glazed and fired to 2300 degrees in the wood kiln.

$185 including materials and firings | 6 sessions + Saturday open studio
