Craigardan is proud to be a partner in this Winter's Empty Bowl, Full Heart dinner in honor of Carmina Leabres Drake. The dinner has been organized by community members to honor Carmina and perpetuate the charitable concept of the traditional empty bowl dinner here in Keene. All proceeds will benefit local initiatives to fight hunger.
Potters will be busy throwing bowls, and restaurants and farmers will be preparing food to donate to the event. Participants can purchase a bowl, fill it with food for a light meal, and take the bowl home as a reminder of those who go hungry around the world and around the corner. Bowls are available for a $15 donation, the meal is free.
Volunteer your time and learn to make pottery! Craigardan will open the studio for two days of making on Saturday, January 19th and Saturday, January 20th for community members to come make a bowl or two to donate. Studio assistants will be on hand to help those who need it, or to teach a beginner how to make a simple slab bowl. The bowls will be available for purchase at the February 14th Empty Bowl, Full Heart dinner at the Keene School.
Please RSVP by email at info@craigardan.org to join us in the studio.
