FEED BACK, Move Forward: Responding 2020
How do we create a fair food system? How do we build an equitable future for the North Country? And how do we move our region toward stronger and more accessible, inclusive, nutritious, and just systems for everyone?
These questions frame our annual summit and bring together community leaders, business owners, farmers, consumers, healthcare professionals, educators, students, and more to discuss advocacy, politics, programs, and grassroots organizing. Our goal is to bring creative, scholarly, and frontline perspectives together into dynamic conversation. This year’s theme reflects the urgency of inequities that 2020 laid bare and the challenges we must meet in 2021.
Together we will address the intersections of food justice, racial equity, healthcare, and education in our rural region. We will seek to engage active dialogue between presenters and participants, to identify obstacles, recognize successful initiatives, and engender collaborative networks.

Summit Schedule Summary:
WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 24TH
1pm-4pm. SPECIAL SESSION: Racial Equity Institute’s Groundwater Presentation
The Racial Equity Institute will open the summit with their Groundwater Approach training session. This very special offering is only open to the first 100 participants who register, and is included with the $20 registration fee. In this lively and participatory presentation, REI organizers will use stories and data to present a perspective that racism is fundamentally structural in nature. By examining characteristics of modern-day racial inequity, the presentation introduces participants to an analysis that most find immediately helpful and relevant.
**Please note: this session is only available to the first 100 registrants. Any additional open seats will be made available to later registrants on a first come, first served basis.

ABOUT THE PLATFORM
Built from the ground up, the Bevy virtual conference platform recreates the in-person experience on a virtual platform. Craigardan is honored to be included as a BevyCares community for change partner and has been gifted access to this powerful platform as a local chapter.
The Bevy platform will provide a rich and engaging summit experience for sponsors, speakers, and participants alike. Individuals will be able to fully control their day, moving freely from room to room, breakout session to breakout session. We can network, have conversations in the lobby, and learn more about sponsors at their information booth. This is the next best thing to gathering in person!
